Great service, yummy food. We've been twice now and will surely return to this gem of a restaurant. The atmosphere is a bit lively but still intimate. For this visit I had the chicken & waffles off the small plates menu, husband had the 125 Burger. He declared it one of the best burgers he's eaten. That's high praise from him. The chicken and waffles were perfectly prepared with serious spiciness, just how I like it. Hideout 125 has an extensive drink menu (obviously...) but I always return to the Simi Cabernet keg wine which is fantastic!

Service warm and inviting. Warm Bread is fresh baked with whipped butter. Menu options should appeal to most. Could use a few more lite dishes or salad options, but overall a good balance of creativity and main staples. Had Tuesday special: Burger + Martinis. I've had a lot of burgers and this ranks up there in the top 3. It is seriously good (seasoned perfectly, perfect meat blend, perfect moisture, and cooked to order). Fries were okay but could use some salt or a little extra punch. The in-house ketchup was a good accompaniment. The mac n cheese was very interesting and worth trying. Normally seafood and cheese are polar opposites. However, this mac n cheese turns that theory on its head. The lighter cheese notes pair well with the real crab meat. The crunchy bread crumbs offer a good texture play. I recommend mixing crumbs so they soak up just a bit of the cheese. We had a Dirty Martini and Cosmo; both were good. Not the best martini that I've ever had, but a solid drink for six bucks! They are known for their elegant cocktails, but I wanted something lighter. Jumped for a flight of 90minute DFH, Boulevard Tank 7, and Upland Velvet Champagne. All three went with different components of meal, so I was happy as can be. Their six layer chocolate cake was good but a little dry and dense. The chocolate taste was spot on though. It could use a bit more icing to offset cake. Maybe more ganache or secondary chocolate icing could make it stellar. Overall. A great experience. We will be back. Service: 5/5 Drinks: 4.5/5 Appetizers/sides: 4/5 Main dishes: 5/5 Dessert: 3.5/5

Don't let the 3 stars deter you: I'm halfway between "A-OK" and "I'm a Fan." Had been wanting to try this place for a while, so I finally got the chance and this review is based on one visit only. Service was excellent: prompt and friendly; staff was welcoming. All the food we had was great--just not.....impressive. I enjoyed it, but I've had better. The beer flight was fun but their mixologist is on to something and we'd go back for a cocktail for sure! I just can't quite place what was missing for us....atmosphere? vibe? We enjoyed our dinner and service but there was nothing outstanding to make us want to come back over and over again---at the price we paid for dinner I'd be more inclined to spend a bit more over at Baker Street because of the overall ambiance. However, this is truly a class restaurant in the north part of Fort Wayne and should be considered for a special occasion or business deal.

Ordered all of the small plates on the menu. They were all really good. The drinks were awesome (raspberry one was my favorite!) For dessert we had the bacon cinnamon roll which was also pretty good.

The food was definitely good, and prompt. However, as a vegetarian, I would recommend somewhere else. Their pasta dish was decent, but truly was the only option. They seem committed to killing something in order to make every appetizer, salad, soup, entree, and even a desert. That being said, my husband enjoyed his steak and they split a salad for us (removing the meaty bits for me).

This place was recommended to me by a friend who used to live in Fort Wayne. I'm just in town for a few days on business but I am glad I stopped here for dinner! I sat at the bar and was greeted right away. Both bartenders were great. I ordered the sea bass. DELICIOUS! My friend told me that I had to try their chocolate cake for dessert... it was a huge portion. Easily enough for 2 to share but as I was alone I took half back to the hotel with me. Between the fantastic food to the great service, this place is definitely 5 stars!

We just came across this gem. It's a nice (romantic) little restaurant that has an excellent menu and very attentive wait staff. The food was excellent and we were very pleased. We'll be back!

If you have not tried hideout yet please get in there! Food is great from the bread to dessert! The cocktails are wonderful and they have a decent wine list. My favorite is the filet and my honey likes the ribeye. Chicken and waffles are excellent as well.

My parents and I went on a Wednesday evening. The restaurant was not busy so we were sat right away. We sat in a booth, which seemed small even for three people. My dad had a wedge salad that was not cored. When we told the waitress, she told us that she had mentioned it to the kitchen staff several times, but that they don't listen to her. My mom and I shared the chop salad, which was good. I had the macaroni and cheese and my mom had the meatballs. Both were good, but nothing extraordinary. My dad had the lamb and said that it was lacking flavor. We had asked about hamburgers because we had heard they were good, but apparently they are only served on Tuesdays. I don't know why you would limit a menu item to one day if it's so good. Our service was good at first but our waitress disappeared for a while after we had received our food. I had to get up to find her and ask for our check. She was up chatting at the front hostess stand. For $80 for three people, we were not impressed. I don't think we will go back.

I felt Hideout 125 to be quite nice. The customer service was excellent. Management check-in on everyone. The atmosphere was a little dark, but goes with the name. Hard wood floors make it loud after 7pm.The food was good, and the shrimp cocktail was perfect. I like how they give you a little extra horseradish in the middle, so you can control the spice. Other people in our party, raved about the chicken large plates flavor, and a nice wine pour. Thank you Nikki, for a great first experience.

Great food, cozy atmosphere, attentive staff, and now on the almost top of our list for good meals. The noise level was a little more than we preferred, especially with pop music which we do not like. But, we at least we're able to talk, unlike some popular restaurants Had trouble finding this place, even with Google app. Once a sign is put up, that should change We has scallops which were outstanding with tender asparagus evidently picked at the right time. The kale salad was nicely complimented with buttermilk dressing and the chopped salad was wonderful For dessert, we prefer simple items. We were so happy that our waiter suggested dishes of gelato. What a great way to end our meal! The Carmel flavor was marvelous!! We will definitely return

My wife and I found ourselves without children and decided to celebrate our anniversary a week early at a place we both have had great times at in the past. Our reservations we booked online went perfect, and we were seated as soon as walked in the door. Our drinks arrived promptly, and as usual bread arrived on the table. When it was time to order, my wife ordered ribeye med/rare and I ordered sea bass with a filet med/well added on. The food arrived and the waiter disappeared for about 20 minutes. The sea bass was excellent, but the steaks doneness must have been switched. The wife's ribeye was closer to well done and my filet was almost rare towards the center. My risotto portion was barely large enough to show under the sea bass, and slightly undercooked. By the time our waiter showed back up and asked how things were and we explained why our steaks were only partially eaten we were over it. Box it up, we would like to leave now. Not sure if this is a sign of the future, but I know it was a disappointing 15th anniversary dinner..

Great cocktail list from mixed drinks to bourbon barrel aged old fashioned's, to wine on tap. Loving the choice between entrees or sharing small plates. Good variety, something for everyone, and executed well. The lounge while small is cozy.

Excellent place to try! A little small and loud. However, the food and service were excellent. My wife and I stuck with the small plates. The French onion soup is probably the best you will ever have!! The fish tacos were great! The macaroni and cheese is worth a try. Try a little of everything!!!

Had an amazing dinner here this past Saturday night. I have been to many, many restaurants and the service that We received, not just from our server but from everyone, was the best I have experienced ever. You can tell the management has created a culture where everyone looks out for the guests and want them to have a great time. I had the Sea Bass. It was perfect. The risotto was creamy and cooked perfectly. My husband had the ribeye and was very happy with his meal as well. For dessert we split the bread pudding which was great and I had a cappuccino, which was delicious. This is now our favorite fine dining spot in the Fort.

I have been to Hideout 125 on 3 separate occasions, and I can firmly say that it is one of the best restaurants in Fort Wayne. The inventiveness and preparation of the food is excellent, the drinks are creative and tasty, and the atmosphere is lively but not too loud. On 2 occasions, my wife and I both split various things off the menu . Some of the plates that really shined were the 125 Burger, Calamari, Cheese and Charcuterie, and the Striped Bass. The Striped Bass was cooked perfectly with a deft touch of flavor and was accompanied with a terrific creamy risotto. For dessert, definitely try the Bacon Cinnamon Roll - even though you normally don't see the word 'bacon' in dessert, give it a try...it is a spectacular blend of sweet and salty. Their cocktails were also memorable - the Vieux Carre and Roy McAvoy were well proportioned and very good. On the last occasion we went to their Bourbon tasting event, in which the chef paired different bourbons and bourbon cocktails with five different courses. None of the dishes prepared were from the set menu - all were created especially for the evening, and paired exquisitely with its cocktail. The chef was available throughout the night, explaining the dishes and his thought process behind each one. He also was fielding comments from the diners by going around to each table and seeing how the food was received. We hope that some of them appear on the regular menu, or are specials on certain nights. Our favorites were the Frutos del Mar on Tostones, the Whiskey Glazed Pork Tenderloin with Roasted Pork Belly and Bacon Fat Cornbread, and the Hideout Twinkie with Bourbon Cream, Kettlecorn Puree, and Sorghum Crackerjack. You would barely know that Hideout 125 has only been opened for under 3 months. There is an occasional service misstep, but they have improved over the times I have been there. The owner is also very visible, making sure that his patrons are enjoying themselves. It will definitely be a regular place I will be dining in years to come.

The hideout seems to be a venue that doesn't quite know what it wants to be. While it boasts an impressive cocktail, wine, and beer pairing menu with every entree, the execution is lacking. Our medium rare steaks and burgers were well-done, and the chicken and waffles so heavy handed with seasoning they remained inedible. While the venue is kitschy and somewhat classy, they lack the diligence and care that fine dining requires. For every dish that was over seasoned with front of the mouth spices, the other was less than adventurous and muffled. A very disappointing result from such a promising menu.

Made reservations on Open Table, which apparently did not "go through". So we sat at the bar, which was actually very fun in large part due to the friendly and attentive bartender, wish I remembered her name. Great drinks too. We ordered steak. I am fine with paying for a good steak, but paying for a good steak that has char marks (probably from earlier in evening) but was pretty much cold was pathetic. Have not gone back since. Maybe they have worked it out but would head to Black Canyon or Chops for steaks in the meantime.

This place has good food and great cocktails but AWFUL service. For starters, they don't honor reservations. We made a reservation over a week ago, for a special occasion, only to get there and be told our table wasn't ready. They tried to put 5 of us in a 4-person booth, where there was no way we could eat comfortably, although that was clearly what they hoped we would do. We waited 40 minutes for the table we had reserved. Then, they were too inconsiderate to comp a round of drinks for our inconvenience. If your group is more than 4, pass on this place.

My husband and I went here for our anniversary last week. The place was packed. You could see the people waiting in the lobby, spilling into the dining room. Because it was so busy the wait staff and management were pacing and staring at the diners, waiting to rush us out. It was not relaxing. I had the pasta with mushrooms and my husband had the swordfish- both good. When we made the reservation my husband mentioned it was our anniversary and there was no free dessert or acknowledgement. This place it special, but it isn't the romanitc, relaxing dining experience I wanted. I will go to Baker's Street or Joseph Decuis next year.

Had date night with hubby last Thursday night. Crab cake appetizer was amazing and full of fresh crab...no fillers in these. I had striped sea bass which was simple yet amazing and my husband had the rib eye which was also delicious. Too full for dessert but they looked amazing! 1930s based barrel aged cocktails were unique and tasty!

Nice atmosphere, but couldn't really hear the music which would give it more of a speakeasy vibe. The drinks were good, but a little heavy on the pour. We really enjoyed the bartender/mixologist. But despite sitting at the bar rail, there were lots of bottles blocking our view of the drink preparation, so we couldn't see them being made, something we would enjoy at a craft cocktail bar. Appreciated the fresh crab in the crab cakes, but lacked seasoning. Not sure what happened with the calamari app. We may have accidentally received their special calamari instead of the app listed on the menu, but either way we were bummed the batter was not seasoned. Walleye dinner was undercooked and not seasoned, as were the shrimp and grits. I did like the ribeye and it was cooked to temp. The meat was not seasoned, but the salt from the blue cheese crust made up for it.

Great cocktails, great food and really cool atmosphere. We stayed on the small plates side of the menu for this trip. I loved the prosciutto-wrapped asparagus and the brown bag potatoes. The Martinez cocktail I had was amazing. It's mixed and stored in a barrel so all the flavors have a chance to meld together. Love this place and can't wait to go back!
